THE FINAL PROBLEM - a broken promise - part 10 of 11 - part 1 - part 2 - part 3 - part 4 - part 5 - part 6 - part 7 - part 8 - part 9. This is picking up a few days after Part 1, and there's one more update after this.

I've wanted to redraw this little scene from way back in a Study in Scarlet for ages. That part is all canon, as well as Watson's final line in his account of Holmes's death.

Something something "eat your heart out" or however that phrase goes...

Had one hell of a visceral dream the other night, and knew I had to makes something about it.

A paper collage of an anatomical heart made from pomegranate flesh. Made a few small digital alterations to fix the colour balance and not have them bleed into each other :)

the BOSCOMBE VALLEY MYSTERY part 2 - part 1 here - there is a mention of Holmes reading Petrarch in this story and so naturally I went on a deep dive of some of the most TRAGIC AND ROMANTIC POETRY ABOUT DOOMED LOVE I HAVE EVER READ. BUDDY.
